My name is Caitlin Soard and I currently live in Louisville, KY with my two rescues, Ellie and Laney. I am a 2016 graduate of Franklin College. I hold Bachelor of Arts degrees in both journalism (with a focus in news editorial) and public relations.
I am currently a Pharmacy Technician at Chewy.com's online pharmacy. My role here includes handling customer interactions in a friendly and positive manner, training new employees in our systems and policies, and fast and accurate data entry. I also am responsible for de-escalating calls with customers having complex problems in real-time to help them receive the best experience possible.
I was head of Marketing & Media for BLoFISH Clothing, a clothing company based in Louisville, KY that is dedicated to giving back 10% of every sale made to charity, from June 2019 through February 2019. My role included all marketing efforts, writing, keeping an extensive email database, working with influencers such as David Denman from NBC’s The Office, Jason Maybaum from Disney’s Raven’s House, and Christian Lee Navarro from Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why to promote products, and much more.
I was on the staff of my college paper, The Franklin, and was an editor from 2013 until 2016. I held leadership positions as executive, features, opinion and news editors. During my tenure as executive editor, I oversaw a complete redesign of the paper's print and online versions. I also worked with the college's radio station, 89.5 WFCI The Griz, as a show host and as music director for three years.
I was an active member of the campus's philanthropy group, Passion For Paws, from 2012 to 2014. I held the position of public relations officer for my last two years and oversaw the group's social media as well as launched on-campus campaigns to promote charity events for local animal rescue organizations, such as a rose sale for The Ferret Rescue and Halfway House located in Martinsville, IN.
Off campus, I interned at TheStateHouseFile.com for a winter term as a reporter, photographer and designer during the winter of 2014.
Also, I worked with Little Heart Records (Louisville, KY) as a marketing intern in 2013, as head intern from 2014 to 2016 and Co-Marketing Director from 2016 to 2017. During my time with there, I learned about the music business, as well as how to effectively run a social media presence (I helped run the Instagram account during my time there and we gained over 2,000 followers,) coordinate meetings and projects with other interns, write and send out press releases and about various music suppliers such as Apple, Pandora and Spotify.
My previous experience in the entertainment industry, my work with student media and my work with non-profit organizations have helped shape my skills in communication (writing, video, design and audio,) organizing events and managing both small and large groups. My special interests include music, animals, travel, the craft beer industry and non-profit work. I am seeking a challenging position that will allow me to use and expand these skills.
